The inaugural Hobby Ambassador of the Year award was announced recently by the editors of the Diplomacy Briefing newsletter. A committee of hobbyists was formed to come up with candidates, with four names being submitted to the subscribers of the Briefing for voting. These included founder of both the vWDC and FTF Registery Bill Hackenbracht, Youtube content creator Flash from Legendary Tactics, prolific hobby writer and thinker Brother Bored, and Zachary Moore – who cofounded DBN and established the Virtual Diplomacy League (of which he still serves as Commissioner.) Moore prevailed in a close vote, with the other three also slated to receive hobby recognition for their contributions over the past 12-18 months. The plan is for this award to be given on a yearly basis, to help recognize and encourage the many volunteers who enhance and strength hobby experiences for all.
